Alzheimer’s disease is one of those diseases that progresses over time. It robs one of their personhood and steals the memories of their lifetime. Estimates for the U.S. are that 4 million people suffer from this disease and that number is expected to double in the next 10 years.

Nothing has been found to irradicate Alzheimer’s disease. A current study at the University of Pennsylvania has taken the approach of increasing the quality of a person’s life by catching the symptoms of the disease as early as possible and slowing its progression.
