I returned to work for light duties mid Mar. I worked in the maintenance department at the time of the accident, but was put in a temporary desk job for 12 more weeks before the company I've worked for, for the past 23 years, eventually subsided to the fact that I wasn't going to be able to return to my original job any time soon and created a new "permanent position" for me, in a different department. It's another desk job but allows me to stay off my feet, and it's supposedly permanent. All this time I've also been going for WSIB supported physiotherapy for no less than 3 times a week since just before I returned to work. It's now been over 7 months since the accident and my injury is still causing me grief with mild but persistant pain and limited range of movement. I walk with a limp and have two 6" scars on either side of my ankle. Now WSIB wants to close my file, but I'm not sure what, if anything should I ask for in way of a cash settlement and can my employer dismiss me if I do decide to settle?
